topographies

the newspaper pile was shot in color, but I think it works better in black and white, subject-wise.
the oil stains look like a purposeful abstract painting. It reminds me of an interview with Soulages in which he mentioned falling in love with the shape and energy a brushstroke/splash of tar on a wall that he saw as a kid. This is a bit more ghostly, but I enjoy the tones and built up surface.
